Beta Cinema boards untold true story THE AUSCHWITZ REPORT by Peter Bebjak

Munich, 21. February 2020. Beta Cinema is proud to announce the acquisition of worldwide sales rights to THE AUSCHWITZ REPORT by award-winning Slovak director Peter Bebjak (“The Teacher”, “The Line”). For the film, writer and director Bebjak was inspired by the actual Vrba-Wetzler Report that saved hundreds of thousands of lives. The two Slovak Jews, Rudolf Vrba and Alfréd Wetzler, managed to escape from the concentration camp and bring along a meticulous report about the systematic genocide – but they still had to make people believe the unbelievable. THE AUSCHWITZ REPORT tells their courageous story.

Beta Cinema will be starting sales on a promo-reel with first footage revealed at the EFM.

THE AUSCHWITZ REPORT, starring Noel Czuczor and Peter Ondrejička, is a co-production between Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Poland and Germany, produced by Rasto Sestak and Peter Bebjak for DNA Production in co-production with Agresywna Bands, Evolution Films, Ostlicht Filmproduktion and RTVS.

Thorsten Ritter of Beta Cinema comments: “In the 75th year since the liberation of the concentration camp, THE AUSCHWITZ REPORT urges us not to forget and inspires us to look for further stories untold. It reminds us of what it meant to have courage in those dark times and enables an audience to experience those days in a most powerful way that only cinema can – and only such a capable filmmaker can. We look forward to sharing first material with our distribution partners at the EFM.”
