First Look images of Antonia Campbell-Hughes thriller "HIGH END" revealed
Beta Cinema has unveiled the first stills from Antonia Campbell-Hughes’ upcoming thriller HIGH END, also previously known as DIAMOND SHITTER, as the production approaches its final days of principal photography. Filming is set to wrap at the end of this week in Dublin, Ireland.
The film assembles a distinguished international cast led by Raffey Cassidy (The Brutalist, White Noise, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), Academy Award nominee Andrea Riseborough (Lee, Goodbye June, To Leslie), Alessandro Nivola (The Brutalist, Disobedience, Love Story) and Academy and BAFTA Award nominee Guy Pearce (The Dog Stars, The Brutalist, Memento). Principal photography commenced on March 8 in Geneva, lensed by Academy Award nominee Robbie Ryan (Bugonia, Poor Things, The Favourite).
Written and directed by Campbell-Hughes — whose debut feature It Is In Us All won the Extraordinary Cinematic Vision Award at SXSW — HIGH END marks another bold and visceral exploration of identity and power. The film features a creatively rich department roster, including Casting Director Dixie Chassay (Dune: Part Two, Poor Things, The Favourite), Costume Designer Saffron Cullane (Queen at Sea, Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy), and Hair & Make-Up Designer Wakana Yoshihara (Spencer, Cinderella, Belfast). Production Designer John Leslie (Saipan, It Is In Us All), Composer Tom Furse (It Is In Us All) and Editor John Walters (It Is In Us All, Oddity) round out the principal creative team.
Set within Geneva’s affluent ex-pat society, the story follows young intern Nollaig, whose impulsive theft — and bodily absorption — of her host family’s diamonds detonates a deeply buried fracture line within their glittering world. As the façade of privilege begins to crack, the film charts an unsettling psychological terrain that Campbell-Hughes has become known for.
Multiple award‑winning producers Rory Gilmartin (Christy, Herself, Calm with Horses) and Lee Magiday (The Favourite, The Lobster, In the Shadows) lead the production, with Alan Maher (Everybody Digs Bill Evans, Lola) also producing. Co-producing are Max Karli and Pauline Gygax of Rita Productions (La Ligne, Continental Drift (South), My Life as a Courgette). The film is produced with the support of Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, BCP Asset Management, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture/FOC, Eurimages, RTS/SSR SRG, Cinéforom and Praesens Film.
Tassilo Hallbauer, EVP of Sales & Acquisitions at Beta Cinema, comments: “Antonia Campbell-Hughes is a standout director with an incredible distinctive and fearless cinematic handwriting. With an extraordinary cast and a strikingly original concept, HIGH END will resonate strongly across international audiences. We are proud to support a project that is as daring as it is compelling.”
The screenplay was developed with support from the BFI and Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland. Production continues in Ireland, concluding on April 10.
