BETA CINEMA SECURES MAJOR INTERNATIONAL PRESALES FOR TRUDIE STYLER’S ROMANTIC ‘DRAMEDY’ ROSE’S BABY

Beta Cinema announces that the Antonio Banderas and Eva Birthistle-led romantic family dramedy ROSE’S BABY, directed by Maven Screen Media’s Trudie Styler, has already been acquired by several high-profile distributors worldwide: Australia & New Zealand (Kismet), Middle East (Front Row), Italy (Rai Cinema), Scandinavia (SF-Studios), Benelux (Paradiso), Poland (Best Film) Czech Republic and Slovakia (Foxx), Former Yugoslavia (MCF), and Hungary (Cinetel) rank among the first to have secured all rights for their territories, with further deals currently under negotiation. ROSE’S BABY currently is in post-production, after principal photography wrapped in late September.

Alongside Styler, ROSE’S BABY is produced by Celine Rattray of Maven Screen Media and Tempo Productions’ Piers Tempest. The high-profile international cast also comprises Academy Award-winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist), Arinzé Kene (Tuesday), Eden Hamilton (The Railway Children Return) and Academy Award nominee Richard E. Grant (Saltburn). ROSE’S BABY follows Álvaro (Antonio Banderas) and his ex-wife Saffron (Eva Birthistle): When their teenage daughter's future suddenly hangs in the balance, a long-divorced couple — who can barely be in the same room and have both since moved on with new partners — must team up for the most unexpected mission of all: having another baby. As egos clash and old wounds resurface, their feud spirals into chaos, awkward intimacy, and something dangerously close to reconciliation. 

Heads of Department include Dante Spinotti (L.A. Confidential) as director of photography, Colleen Atwood (Chicago) as costume designer, Steve Summersgill (Fair Play) as production designer, Lizzi Lawson Zeiss (Blade Runner 2049) as hair and make-up designer, Nathan Nugent (Room) and Walter Fasano (Call Me By Your Name) as editors.  

CAA represents North American rights while Beta Cinema is handling international sales, presenting a first promo reel at AFM, booth #340 at the Fairmont Plaza Hotel.
