My Son

by Lena Stahl

In her feature film debut Lena Stahl carefully weighs the trade-offs between protection and freedom, and the pitfalls of sacrificing one for the other. Starring European Shooting Star 2020 Jonas Dassler (The Golden Glove, The Silent Revolution).

Growing up is never easy. It's hard for teenagers and possibly even harder for their parents. After Jason barely survives a skate accident, his relationship with his mother Marlene is being put to the test. While Jason continues to feel invincible, Marlene wants to protect him more than ever. When Marlene decides to take Jason across Germany to Switzerland for rehab, a challenging journey full of obstacles begins for the two. At the end of the trip, it is all about how much fear one should allow and how much one must be prepared to risk for freedom.
