Munich, 23 July 2010. The Icelandic film KING’S ROAD will celebrate its international premiere this summer at the Festival del Film in Locarno. KING’S ROAD, written, directed and edited by Valdis Óskarsdóttir, will be screened on August 5th at 9.30 pm at Locarno’s most prestigious venue, the Piazza Grande. Daniel Brühl (GOODBYE, LENIN!, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS) and Gisli Örn Garðarsson (PRINCE OF PERSIA) play the lead roles in the tragicomical film, which unfolds in a decrepit trailer park outside of Reykjavik. KING'S ROAD is the second feature directed by the Icelandic filmmaker, whose first film COUNTRY WEDDING was shown at the international festivals of Toronto, Munich, Pusan, Marrakech and London, and obtained four nominations for the Icelandic Film Award. KING’S ROAD was produced by Mystery Island and AVE in coproduction with Kukl and Vestuport.
