Munich, 23 January 2013. Beta Cinema has picked up the Romanian Berlinale competition entry CHILD’S POSE. The movie by the internationally acclaimed director Călin Peter Netzer presents in a thrilling, emotional, yet humorous way, the relationship between a dominant mother and her grown-up son. Produced by Parada Film, CHILD’S POSE is a touching film about looking after our children while suffocating them with love, and on the marks that parents leave on their offspring’s personalities. On a different layer, the movie is also a portrayal of contemporary high-class Romania, the low-level corruption and trading of influence in the midst of the core social institutions.
For his previous feature films, Romanian-born director Călin Peter Netzer was honored internationally with the Grand Prize of the Jury in Locarno and at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. CHILD’S POSE stars Luminița Gheorghiu (THE DEATH OF MR LAZARESCU), Bogdan Dumitrache (TRAFFIC), Ilinca Goia and Natașa Raab(AMEN). Beta Cinema presents CHILD’S POSE in addition to the competition screenings at the European Film Market.
