Munich, 27 August 2013. Ahead of its international premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Uberto Pasolini’s Orizzonti-entry STILL LIFE travels around the world. The poignant tale of life, love, and a man’s commitment to his fellow man stars Eddie Marsan (“Happy Go Lucky”, “Ray Donovan”) and Joanne Froggatt (“Downton Abbey”) and will be released in Italy by BIM Distribuzione. Wild Bunch secured the title for Benelux, while Palace Films picked up distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand. Several additional territories are in advanced negotiations. STILL LIFE, Uberto Pasolini’s second feature as a director after the critically acclaimed MACHAN, will have its international premiere in competition in Venice’ Orizzonti section on September 3rd, 2.30 pm.

STILL LIFE depicts the story of John May (Eddie Marsan), a solitary council worker, profoundly dedicated  to the point of obsession, charged with finding the next of kin of those who have died alone. When his department is downsized, John must up his efforts on his final case, taking him on a liberating journey that allows him to start living life at last. In STILL LIFE Eddie Marsan’s stand-out performance confirms his position as one of the UK’s, finest actors and one whose talent has been recognized by internationally acclaimed directors as diverse as Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Mike Leigh and JJ Abrams. Playing opposite Marsan in the role of Kelly is Joanne Froggatt, most famous now for her role as Anna in the smash television series “Downton Abbey”.

STILL LIFE is produced by Red Wave/Embargo Films in association with Cinecittà Studios, Exponential Media, Beta Cinema and Rai Cinema.
